This hidden gem stands as one of Europe’s most treasured attractions, promising an enthralling exploration of the renowned Baradla Cave a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995. With its colossal 25-kilometer length, spanning across 5 kilometers in Slovakia (known as Domica) and the remainder on the Hungarian side, the Baradla Cave is a testament to the Earth’s natural wonders. Beyond its geological splendors, Aggtelek Park is Hungary’s sole national park dedicated to preserving inanimate natural assets, including karst formations and caves. It also serves as a sanctuary for rare wildlife and boasts a stunning array of flora, making it a nature lover’s paradise.

Know before you go:

The cave welcomes visitors year-round, with opening hours from April 1st to September 30th, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and from October 1st to March 31st, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Note that the last tours commence one hour before the ticket office closes.

The cave’s interior maintains a constant temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, so it’s advisable to dress warmly, wearing a sweater or coat.
